Getting Here

What 3 words locates our gate at "goggle rooster scripted"

SatNav or Google Maps to HR2 0SP will take you to the bottom of the tarmac lane, or even further as they continue to improve. Turn up the lane and the Slade is the first (and only) house on the left over the top of the rise. Using street view on maps you can actually follow the lane right up to our gate.

If you don't have any navigational aids, then coming from the Hereford direction turn right at the crossroads immediately after entering the village of Peterchurch (sign for Stockley Hill). You will then pass Crossways (two roads on your left) and Wellbrookside on your right (note that whatever the national database may say, we are NOT on Wellbrookside). Shortly afterwards turn right up an unmarked tarmac lane, the same as mentioned above. Go to the top of the rise, over the speed bumps, and pass a bungalow (Sunnybank) on your right. The Slade is immediately afterwards on your left through the named gate, which may need to be opened. Our dog will not attempt to escape even if he's already on the other side. If you're nervous of dogs, don't worry, he's very good natured and someone will emerge from the house to call him in before he can deliver his usual enthusiastic welcome.

If all else fails, many folks in the village will set you right, or you can ring us and someone will come and rescue you. And don't worry - that is no problem - you won't be the first, or even the twenty-first.

To give you some idea of the distance, we are about 3 hours drive from London, depending on traffic and about 3 from Manchester. You can avoid the jams in Gloucester or Worcester by going round, though trying to get past Bristol on the motorway at many times during the day in any direction is almost a guarantee of delay.

Pictures: 1. Coming up the lane over the top of the rise and with Sunnybank ahead on the right. 2. The turn to the left. 3. The gate 4. your destination. Park either in front of the unit or, better, if you get tired of looking at your car, in one of the bays to the side of the unit.

Wonderful stay in Peterchurch and we are desperate to come again! First place we've stayed where the garden is completely secure for the dogs! It made us so relaxed and the stay so much more enjoyable ...
